What are weave extensions?
Weave extensions, also called hair weaves or weft extensions, are narrow bands of hair attached in rows against your own hair. Because the pressure is spread over a wider strip, a weave feels light and natural and blends beautifully with your own locks. This method is ideal for both extra volume and noticeable length and, when placed correctly, can also be a safe choice for thinner hair. Our wefts are made from 100% Remy human hair for long-lasting softness and shine.
Pros and cons of weave extensions
Pros
A hair weave gives you a secure, long-lasting result with an incredibly natural look. You style the weft just like your own hair - blow-drying, curling and straightening are all possible with heat protection. The wefts are reusable and can easily be moved up as your hair grows. The band structure creates a flat, comfortable attachment that suits daily wear, workouts and busy routines, with no glue on your own hair.
Possible cons
A weave requires professional application and regular maintenance - usually a move-up every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on hair growth. You may feel slight tension during the first few days. Extensions don't receive natural scalp oils, so they need extra care to stay glossy and supple. If your hair is very fragile or sensitive, thorough advice is wise to determine whether a hair weave suits your hair type and lifestyle. Want to weigh it up honestly? Hair weave application methods
Micro rings
With the micro ring method, your hair is divided into even sections and secured with silicone rings. The weft band is attached to these rings so the pressure is spread evenly. The big advantage is that no glue or heat is needed and reapplication is quick and efficient. After 6 to 8 weeks, the rings are loosened and moved back up. This technique suits a variety of hair types and preserves the quality of both your own hair and the weft.
Sew-in on braids
For a sew-in, a flat braid track - a cornrow - is created first, after which the weft is attached to the braid with a needle and cotton weaving thread. It feels compact and secure, lies nice and flat, and is popular with both straight and curly hair. Again, no glue or heat is involved. After a few weeks, once your hair has grown, the weft is removed and sewn in again higher up. In our salon, we advise per hair type and goal - volume or length - whether a sew-in or micro rings will give the best result.
Care and lifespan
With the right routine, 100% Remy weave hair usually stays beautiful for 6 to 12 months, while the attachment is moved up every 6 to 8 weeks. Wash gently with a mild, low-sulfate shampoo and apply conditioner to the lengths and ends, not the roots. Protect against heat, sleep with your hair in a loose braid and avoid oil or heavy products near the weft band. This way you keep the shine, minimize tangling and extend the lifespan. Choosing color and length
Our wefts are available in 22 inch 40 g and 26 inch 50 g, in multiple colors for a perfect match. For volume alone, you often need less hair than for noticeable length. How many packs of weaves do I need? gives a practical guideline based on the result you want and your hair thickness. Not sure about the shade or length?
